How about it? There's an indoor track I frequent in Wallingford, CT and I know some other members have been there as well. www.ontrackkarting.com is their website..on it, they have prices and a form for a day license that everyone should print and fill out so we can hand them in when we get there. The prices are not cheap, but these go-karts are not the $h!tty putt putt ones you'd find elsewhere.

So let's see who's interested and on what dates. The track is open 7 days a week, but prices are cheaper on weekdays than they are on weekends. They are usually open from 4 to whenever (10 I think) on weekdays, except Friday which is 12pm-10pm. Friday would probably be good for most people. Tuesdays, they do 10 minute races for the same price as the regular 8 minute races, so that's something to consider as well.

Date: Friday, July 23rd 4:00pm (Rain or shine! It's an indoor track)
Who/What: You/Your Contour (and any friends/friend's cars)
Why: Cause go karts are the $h!t

I am clearly interested, and I would bring my cousin with his '03 SVTF and my dad who would probably ride shotgun with me..unless he feels like taking his truck.

Doing so will make the whole process go much quicker. For your race name, use your forum name if you like, just so we know who's who (and who kicked whose ass :laugh:)

Alright guys, sorry for the delay in planning..

Let's try to set something up for Friday July 23rd. That should give everyone a good amount of time to get some time off if needed. Let's aim for a 4PM meet time and we can chill in the parking lot till everyone arrives and do some racing at our leisure. The parking lot is plenty big so getting everyone together will be no problem if we wanted to do some sort of photoshoot (that's not my thing, so someone else can take point there if they want).
We could probably plan on three races unless people want to do more. I remember my first time and it was tiring after two. I do ten in a visit now though (kinda addicted:help:) for $75. When you bounce that $75 off their other packages, it's actually a really good deal..it turns out to be worth it if you do at least five races.

I'll update the first post with the info, but the date and time are Friday, July 23rd at 4:00pm unless it turns out people have a problem with that date.

So let's see if we can get more than three people interested..Spread the word!
 
I can't say definitely yes because that week my company is gonna be doing a huge paving project and I might be working until very late. However, I'm not saying definitely no, because if we get ahead of schedule, I'll be able to make it.
 
Well even if there are only a couple Contours there, I'll still be there. I'm gonna post this up on Focus Fanatics too. The Focus guys seem to appreciate the Contours so I don't think it'll be too tough to get along and not try to drive each other off the track.
 
Here's a pricing update.
The track has a "buy two, get one free" deal mon-fri that we will probably be doing. Also required is $5 for a day license which includes the mandatory headsock.
So, $45 for three 8 minute races doesn't sound too out of reach..it's definitely worth it!
 
At the moment, Friday the 23rd looks pretty promising for me! Not totally sure about the gf, but we'll jump that hurdle when we get to it. I'm sure she'd enjoy it.

Its all fun and games till you start lapping them and there going 15mph on the straightaways...
 
I'll be there obviously, and my cousin in his svtf. I have a few from focus fanatics interested with at least one definite and a few maybes.
It's not gonna be a huge meet, but just enough for some friendly (at first) competition.
 
Yeah, depending on what my day ends up being, i should still get down there for at least a couple races but probably closer to5:30ish.....screwed my schedule up royally missing work Monday...
 
Well you guys may be in luck, cause we decided to push it back to 6:30 to accomodate some other guys. We'll meet there at that time, but we'll hang around outside for a bit till everyone arrives (unless it rains).
