Gingerman during SZ07

Nice video.

I wish i could do that this coming up meet, but 3rd gear grind == no good.

Next time with a good rebuilt transmission.

its a little ironic by looking outside right now (its a blizzard up here at the moment) but I have the biggest hard-on for waterford hills @ SZ08. Thanks goes out to the mexican for taking the vid for me.

I was scrubbing those tires pretty good into some of the turns.. I think I couldve been a bit quicker. if hector wasn't carressing his damn evo with the velvet touch the whole time he surely wouldve creamed me hehe

I can admit it; I drove pretty bad....first time on the track with the Evo. Been in nothing that fast at the track (my 120 hp Contour the first time at SZ02). After that I realize I need to upgrade the tires. Definitely need to practice my late braking too.

Bigger tires are a must, for both of us! Hope to see you at waterford this year
Not bigger tires.....I was driving on All-Season tires!:blackeye: In the vid you can see my car slide a little on some of the turns! Definitely looking for some performance tires now.

I should be out there this year...

i didnt see much rotation. i saw some real good corners but you didnt seemto be anywhere near the limit. very smooth i am impressed. what suspension setup do you have and curious about what type of 3L?

LOCO4g63 sliding is good in the corners a 4 wheel drift is the fastest way around a corner. it is not "drifting" by any means. a 4 wheel drift means you are at 100% grip of both the front and the back tyres at the same time. in order for that to happen the car has to scrub or slide just ever so slightly. dont be afraid to slide a little:)

Follow the link in my sig for 3L build with pics and other details. I'm running the BAT kit, stock sway bars (96 had a 19mm rear, 20mm front I think?). I'm debating whether I should get 225's this year instead of the 215's. The g-force sports chunked real good and I've got my eyes on the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1's.

Well I only watched about half of the video, but I can give you one big but easy pointer. Keep both hands on the wheel! Look like your Sunday driving through the park, lol. Do this and get some bigger tires and you will be able to throw it in the corners. Your gonna need to for Waterford.

do have a few questions... did you use 2.5 or 3L valves in the SVT heads and who tuned your car? also recently i have discovered after putting stock wheels back on my car that the myth is true about skinnier tires. you might actually try some 205/50/r17 tires on your wheels. by doing so you will reduce sidewall flex and put more pressure on the contact spot of the tread. there is a formula somewhere that will tell you what the best size tire is for the weight of a car. i cant seem to find it but if i do i will post it here for you

yo I gotta shift! I was pushing it pretty good. the tires at their limits, or what I thought was the limits.... they were screaming like banchies!

THe 2.5L valves are in there. I had ADC tune my car, sort of, but they skipped out without finishing it so i'm having Warmonger help me retune.

I dont get what your saying about the tires. Adding a taller tire would seem like it would increase sidewall flex. The formula sounds interesting though I'd like to check it out.

I am not afraid of sliding, just sliding too much. Something a little more sticky and performance oriented was needed.

Not in the corners, lol. You were one handing some of the corners, haha. You get your down shifting done before the corner, than carry it through, shift when you exit, hands back on wheel, momentarily off to shift than hands right back on. Dont keep your hand on the shifter. You would get slapped by a instructor if he saw that. Why, one for obvious car control, two for better reaction, there was a couple times were you were one handed and getting closer to Hector, if he were to spin out, lose a tire, mechanical failure you would have most likely ended up in his bumper or off the road and maybe pull a Buckshot  , or worse.

Tire screaching is a good thing. Now for a bit bigger and maybe better compound(not sure what you have). Sounds like your off to a good start though  .

now thats the kind of feedback I like to hear. I'll work hard to put that to practice this next time out.

The vid was taken with 215/45/17 BFG G-force Sports which are a fairly inexpensive summer performance tire. I regret not getting 225's
