All right I'll cough it up...Lindsey bought a Contour. It's a 1996 GL ATX Zetec Champagne/Tan cloth. Nothing spectacular, lol. She got a decent deal on it. It's got 97k (I think), and it passed inspection, but there have been some issues. One problem is the alarm, which I am working on (haven't really had a chance to do anything at all with it yet, but Brian helped me figure out most probably what is wrong), and a couple other problems with how it's running. It drives really nice and smooth, and rides very quietly, but it's got a rough idle and there's a hissing sound I just noticed that is coming from an unknown source near the front of the engine, possibly exhaust. Additionally, the rear brakes were GRINDING SO BAD and there were funny noises coming from back there (maybe wheel bearing? EEK). Lindsey hates when I "waste" time with cars when I'm with her because I don't get to see her very often, so I haven't been able to work much on the alarm, and God forbid I jack the car up to do the o'clock test LOL. I told her to register here on CEG, and if she does, she's already told me her name is gonna be "Bombdig." Weird...but w/e. Sorry to waste everyone's time

Zorrex, your sig now takes up the entire screen on my phone. Can you please shorten it some?

Oh and congrats on the car :) now she has a better ride than you :p

LOLOL sure I'll shorten it hahaha. And no, her ride isn't necessarily better. My car drives nicer, even though it's MUCH louder in the cabin. (I got pulled over for my first time for loud exhaust last night, haha. No ticket though...). Well, it drives nicer for the most part, but I think I need to replace the rear end links...I'll have pics shortly, don't worry!

If you need to do the brakes or end links I'll help. You can bring it over here. I just did one of my end links the other day and need to pick up the 2nd one tomorrow. I also just did a rear drum job on a neighbor's 'tour a couple of weeks ago too.

Well I'm pretty sure I can do endlinks myself...Do you even need to jack up the car for that??? If not I can pick up some jack stands and I'll do it. They're just stupid wrench-shaped things, plug and play. However, drum brakes are a different story. They are definitely acting funny and are worth taking a look at. The brake pedal feels deeper than mine, but that might not be relative...

How hard was the end link? I have to do both of my rears as soon as they arrive (currently in transit).

End links are really easy. One end is mounted vertically through the control arm and the swivel end is mounted horizontally to the swaybar. It takes like ten min. per side, I had air tools and it really took longer to get everything out and set up than it did to do the actual work.
