i'm in the process of putting a new head and speakers all around and i got a good deal on some 6x8 infinity speakers....so my question is how do i get the driver and pasenger doors off?...

i got the rear door panels off fine and speakers installed...but i have all the screws out of the drivers side and it still seems attached at the door handle and loose everywhere else....i heard you have to pull up not out but i think there might be one or two screws left...any ideas?

On the door panel there's a handle that you use to close the door. Did you pop the plastic cover off of it? If I remeber correctly, there's 2 screws behind the cover.

do you just wedge a screwdriver behind the panel (screw cover??) on the door handle and pop it out to reveal the screws?...

i thought about that and tried a little but i couldn't get it to budge.....(i didn't try that hard)...any tips would be great because i need to finish this up tonight....

Yup, and once a corner of the handle comes free, pull hard to release the rest. Don't worry, they are strong.

Also, I believe there is a screw behind the door latch (the little black thing you pull to open the door). there is a little round plastic cover you have to pop out with a tiny screw driver first, then the screw is behind that. Good luck

If at all possible use a popsicle stick or something to pop the cover off of the door handle...a screwdriver can damage the plastic. If it still won't come off tug on the door panel all the way around and try to see where a screw might still be hiding.

Don't forget, you have to remove the little triangle part where the door meets the dashboard, you also have to take out the part where the door handle is too then feel under the door and make sure you got all the screws out of there as well. The panel should lift straight up.

Ya check the way bottom of the panel for screws and the sides. I recall to pop the Panel off, its Up and Off, not just gorilla it straight off. Im sure youre gonna love the upgrade. Post results!

one more question.....how close are the tolerances btw the window and the back of the speaker?...because the infinity speakers i put in had a hell of a lot bigger magnet than the stockers that were in there and on one of the doors the speaker harness wedged btw the magnet and the window and jammed the window...

i took the panel back off and taped the harness off to the side and the problem was fixed but that says to me than the clearance btw the window and the speaker magnet is like 1/8" or 3/16"....anybody else have this prob??

You have to be careful about the speakers magnet size. If I roll my front windows all the way down I hear a tick but thats it. IIRC there is a mod you can to create more space for the magnet. It has something to do with spacers(washers.)

i think im good...all the windows go up and down smoothly and i don't have a tick....but im sure the clearance btw the magnet and the glass is tiny....

The only clearence issues I had was when I just laid the crossovers in the bottom of the door and one time one wasn't flat and the window mechanism bumped it as it came down. Now I have them bubble wrapped and electrical taped to seal out moisture and I zip tied them where that triangle part juts out of the door panel. Boost the bass and treble a little bit and pop in some Stevie Ray Vaughan, damn those things will sound good :)
