GB: Door Sill Plates

I got mine yesterday. I haven't installed them but the sizing is just what I was expecting.

as for the etching, its not what I was thinking. I was thinking it would be exactly like the pedals from the past. What was done was the design was cut into the sills like the grooves.

I compared it to the one that is found on the car and the design was a great match.

I can post a picture tonight ... but with everything previous about that popular logo I am not sure that I should

That's what I'm waiting for. I would like to see the "popular" logo, and if it matches the emblem/pedal set.

Anyone have pics of these? The money's burning a hole in my pocket :cool:

or if your crafty you will start digging around a place connected to that popular logo in a location where you might see other similar images of the popular logo ... there is a quick way to get there .... and you could say its related to the album of the year :shrug:

I installed one set yesterday. Looks good and I will get some pics to post today.

One note. make sure you have them where you want them as the double sided tape that comes on them is sicky as hell. its going to be a paint to remove them if you ever need to.

I am not sure but I believe they said they could etch on the rear sills. I know on me SeVT-T etching I got an email with the design asking for my approval. So I would just include it with your ordering instructions or at least email them the question directly.

Yea... about that. I haven't heard back from them yet. Also as it turns out right after you sent me that picture my wife told me that I had received a package that day and it was the sill plates. I have some pictures of them next to a brand new OEM SVT deck lid emblem if anyone is interested. All and all they look pretty good, not perfect, but good.

Things that I noticed (and maybe I'm picky, but the OEM SVT emblem of the floor mat is right there) are that the 'S' has larger gaps then that of the OEM 'S', the 'V' has a deeper valley then the OEM 'V' and the 'T' has a thinner top then that of the OEM 'T'. I believe they are just using a bold italicized 'Tahoma' font with the letter spacing changed to get it close or the lettering isn't thick enough. I offered to send them a .DXF file that I have of the actual SVT Contour logo, but as I mentioned I have not heard back from them.

Ah hell I'm just going to post the pictures people need to see what they are buying to make their own decision instead of this 'PM' me crap...



If these pictures in the eyes of some people are over stepping my bounds let me know and I may remove them. However again I think people need to see what they are purchasing.
 
I didn't even note the difference until you spelled it out and put the pictures up. I don't think it will be noticed unless someone looks really close at it.

anyway, posting the pictures here will be alot easier then pm'ing them. same goes for me, if the pics should be taken down I will.

Which is why I'm just considering using them. It's more or less the principle of things. 97 bucks is a bit much to get something your not completely satisfied with, which is why I asked Anthony to see if there was anything they could do to make it closer to the OEM logo. I'm pretty sure these would have been made with a CNC machine so if I gave them a .DXF file they should be able to use it to create a identical logo to that of the OEM SVT one. Until I hear back from them everything is staying in the plastic it was sent in.
 
I think those look freekin' sweet, but I understand where you're coming from, too. If perfection is achievable, then why settle for anything less? That said, please continue to help them meet your expectations. I'm sure somebody here will gladly take the sills you currently have off your hands. ;)

Totally understand. Will do. I'll keep everyone informed of what I find out. However as you said they are pretty darn good. I may just end up using them, we'll see.
 
Well Anthony is having me send them back. Apparently they updated their pattern based off the pictures I put up here on the forums.

So I'll keep you guys informed when I get the new ones.

I bet you could help Anthony find a buyer for those plates here on the forum. At least they won't have to throw them out. Photos looked pretty good so with an extra discount I'm sure somebody would want them.
 
Did anyone else have any weird circular scoring on theirs? One of my front plates looks like this:

I hate to be one of those people so I'm not sure what is acceptable to complain about it or not, what do you think? :shrug:
