Ok I have a 98 svt contour. And as many of you know the first year models had bad wiring issues. As far as I can tell I cannot find any wires visble to be causing my 15 amp fuse to blow. Its done it to me twice and the second time was day later ever driving multiple times. Has anyone else ran into this problem or know what else it maybe other than the fubar wiring system that is my car?

The one in the engine bay and all my owners manual says is eltric fuel pump. And now the car isnt blowing the fuse but is idling rough around 800 rpm and even if I press the gas it wont do anything. And before I shut it off it was running fine

Miles, condition, upgrades, replaced parts...???

Fuel pump could be toasty? If AT EVERY TIME, you turn the key to on but NOT start it and if you hear a loud huuuuuuuuuummm from the back of the seats every time, the pump is getting power and it is starting to flow gas and sends a good signal to the ecu and should start it, BUT IF you don't hear that hum sound from the rear ALL THE TIME then you got an off/on problem to perhaps diagnose from.

I ALWAYS let the car do that before starting it and my accord to MAKE sure the pump is good and start them after that.

Let us know how it goes...

It has 230xxxxx miles on it. And when it messed up the other day the fuse did not blow and before it started back up the antenna motor made so much nose I could not here the pump. But after the radio was turned off the pump hummed and the car cranked. Im thinking the pump maybe going bad but it a expensive gamble to risk.

Car is as stock as it left the factory except for alt, water pump, and o2 sensors. She is ok condition im just worried its a wiring problem which the cars are known for.

If the car has that many miles on it then you need to put a pump. That is most likely your problem the pump is starting to pull more amps. Some times depending on the conditions if your fuel filter is getting stop up and has not been changed in the last year or 25'000 miles and when you drive a lot some times it will slow the fuel pressure down and that puts a strain on the pump. This is called dead head pressure it will cause it to wear the pump out faster and cause ti to blow the fuse. The more strain you put on a pump the hotter they get and that makes them pull more amps this will burn your relay out and some times it will burn your computer up.This comes from not changing your fuel filter and over time pumps just go bad. People that only put a few dollars of gas in their cars at a time have more fuel pump problems because the pump never runs cool if you keep a least a 1/4 tank of gas the pump runs cooler because the gas level is above the pump and this keeps it cooler. Not trying to tell you what to do just giving you some helpful information.

To be honest that could be it. It makes since and I never let my tank get below 1/4 for that reason
