Yay it's Christmas season again and time for me to crawl under my Tour. Last year it was the infamous alternator (V6) that had me throw in the boxing day, and now it's the front driver side wheel bearing for the 2nd time. Had it replaced 2.5 years ago and it developed a tiny free play on the wheel after 1.5 years, getting worse over time.

Wonder anyone could recommend a shop in GTA area, preferrably Mississauga/Brampton/Oakville, that I can take in the knockle and new bearing and they press-out-n-in for me.

Thanks a lot, and Merry Christmas!

You can do it yourself if you want. Me and Gooserex did one of his bearings with a bearing puller/press loaned from Canadian Tire. It just takes a little muscle but it worked like a charm.

That will work as long as it isn't corroded in there too bad. Mine took many tons of force to remove.

If you lived close to here, I would do it for you for next to nothing. Make sure you have some snap ring pliers on hand if you attempt to do it yourself :).

Thanks for the replies, guys!

NatePayeur, I went to my CanadianTire store today, and they don't have a loaner press:( but a puller that you can pull the hub assy off the axle with, the Spanish-made wheel bearing they carry seems to be good quality stuff though. Maybe I'll try my luck at the one you went to. Do you mind sharing the store location?

Craig, that was such a warm hearted offering that I wish I lived in your town instead of mine 300km away.
