Front Tubular Control Arms

Got my rod ends and installed them yesterday, first they are definitely all RH thread, second, mine were completely done. I suspected it when I bought them because they moved easily and I was getting clunking on any sort of movement with the control arms, examples would include acceleration, braking, and especially braking while turning produced a huge CLUNK when you came to a stop. All of that is gone now, they steering response was always much better than stock, but with the new ends it's smoother as well. With these AM-12Ts the control arms have no added NVH from stock, only benefits. The cost may be high ($53 each), but I do not regret one cent and feel that these will last for a very long time.

did you get a clunk when you turned one way and not the other? i get a bad clunk turning left but not right. ive swapped out the drivers side, but havent gotten to the passenger yet

Well it seemed most noticeable while turning sharply to the right and coming to a complete stop. What prompted me to replace the rod ends right now was that my 1,500K tire on the front drivers side was down to the nylon threads on the very inside and I am planning on having a trusted mechanic friend I know bend the control arms slightly to pull the camber back within reason. When we got the car up on his machine, we jacked it up slightly with a hydraulic ram and found it had almost an inch of lateral play in the rearward LCA rod end. The rest were not that bad, but they moved around without any resistance when I pulled them out. Now that they're changed out I'll be going back to him to get a front wheel alignment and a new tire.
