Do you know if a 99 Mystique bumper cover is interchangeable with a 99 Tour cover?

Since I know you can put an SVT bumper on a Mystique (I've seen it done before) I don't see why it won't work in the opposite fashion. That's pure speculation though.

I think you have to swap out the headlights and grill to make it fit... but not sure... I thought the bottom half of the SVT bumpers were cut and molded to fit the top half of the mystiques

well it was originally thought that the grill and lights would need to be changed but they don't. there was one member with a mystique that bolted on a SVT bumper with out modification. If you note the mystique grill just sticks out furthur, the body line in the bumper is the same. Also the bottom of the headlights is the same, its just the part by the grill that is different.

i did compair my SeVT side by side to a Mystique ...

Ok I dont know all the differances between the mistique and the contour. I thought all that was different.

I looked it all over and appears that it would just slip right in place. same fasteners and all. However it is a mute point for now, since the JY just cleaned out this area where the car was sitting. It would have been a mod by opportunity since there was the cover w/ fog lights and it was the right color, what the heck........ I was too busy to check it out and now it is gone Oh well, guess I'll have to do something else :laugh:

There are not interchangeable without surgery to the bumper or swapping the entire front end.

Well at the JY looking at both a 99 tour and a 99 sitque with the bumper covers off they look the same. The actual foam core bumper looks the same. I don't where the difference is that you are speaking of. I do not know if there are other changes in provious years that would make it necessary to change everything. At this point however since the cover is now gone it may be a while before I see another 99 one in my color and w/ foglights. I was willing to speculate about this for only $30, but...... later now.
