Fort Adams Car Show - Newport RI

Too bad it wasn't the following weekend. We could have probably incorporated that into the fall meet.

Mike's dad turns 60 that day, and I think we're having a party for him.
We gotta talk to his mom to find out for sure.
 
That's OK if its busy... I know an Awesome sandwich shop on Lower Thames St., if you want to do that, or we can swing into Middletown and hit the place my old boss now owns....
 
so incase anyone is interested here is a run down of the show.

basically it sucked. forcast called for partly cloudy and it was rainy. Left in the morning and the weather was ok then it started to rain. rain lasted through about 2 pm when we went to leave.

There was a good turnout for the sport compact class, many 350z's, G35s, etc.

as for the results. we where in the 1991 to present class.
1. Lincoln mark 8 with a fake hoodscoop and a ton of badges.
2. Newcat016 (black cougar)
3. Buick

andrew and I got runner ups. so everyone got an award but we lost to a Lincoln and a buick :blackeye:

Andrews friend with an STI tied for 1st with a pink SRT4 in the sport compact class ...

maybe next year the weather will be good. last year was cold, windy and overcast.

at least we where able to cruise around Newport alittle before leaving.

who cares if you didn't place, did you have fun (minus the rain fo course). I have too many trophies and all they do is collect dust, I don't even hang around for the awards anymore. I go to let people look at my car, they call it a SHO, Escort, and I laugh have some fun and leave.

yes I know placing isn't important, we all got awards anyway. we where just shocked about how the votes turned out.

i have mentioned it before, but i lost to a prowler and a John Deere tractor at a classic car show!

A few years back I was put in with other Fords and lost to a Pinto

still looks awsome Brian. I'm slowly working the mustang into show status, got alot chrome under the hood and I can't wait to get the body going. My buddies mustang vert is my insperation..here is his 400hp vert at my parents house before we headed out for a cruise(it's been a feature car in 3 mags).

here is an older picture from when the motor was 1st put together, I know have more chrome(power steering cover, wiper motor, sensors,etc.) strut tower brace, taylor full metal jacket plug wires(braided) wit hchrome wire seperators and some other stuff. I need some side shots of it also to show the ceramic headers and vlave covers. I'll have to do a picture shoot soon and post them.

nope, she is working. she transfered to the ICU now and works alot more weekends, they have crazy shifts and trauma on call but the money is better.
