so the cougar and focus used the shift tower with a pin in it as opposed to the bolt.. it still breaks.. apparently the pinned version has other faults.
plus if you have cable issues in the future what will you do?
get the keyed tower its like $220. do it before it breaks off (in gear) and having to remove the whole damn trans / engine to replace something so stupid.
I have 98 mystique it cost $3000 to buy last year. broken bolt in 4th gear
any guess on how much it would cost in labor alone.
