me and my brother emailed the guy in charge of ford europe or whatever it is and we asked him about the rs and when it would be coming to us.

"David and Chris,

At the current time we are just trying to gather, through polls and online surveys, just how interested people are in the new Focus RS. As of right now if we do release it to the United States, it will be upwards of 2011 or 2012. At the current point in time we just dont have enough interested parties in the car, although we do know there are a lot of people who would love for this car to hit your soil."

the engine and trans have to be separated as well as all the suspension pieces. thats how people bring in japan imports with minimal effort. all they have to do is get the us safety inspection.

well thats what our automotive teacher told us he brought in his supra.

much like any car that was never sold in the us market - it hasn't been tested to meet us crash safety standards. emissions stuff too, which is easier to deal with than reworking the crash stuff.

Wait a minute.... these things are available in Canada????@?@?2!?1? I don't think so. I know the body style is coming next year, but never heard of the RS coming here.

BTW AWD is about the only thing that could make the RS look any better to me.

I think its actually a new body style worldwide next year. Europe's had that bodystyle for a while already.

They didn't jump through all the proper hoops when they brought them over and eventually stopped jumping through any hoops until the government shut them down and made an example out of them.
