facing the subs

It's not the direction, it's the position of the driver/enclosure that couple with the interior to determine the bass boost provided by the car. The only answer is to try, unless you feel compelled to listen to the advice of a bunch of people who probably know little more than you already do.

As far as this board being unfriendly, I haven't :censored::censored::censored::censored:ing noticed any of it. Go take some prozac, here is the link since you probably wouldn't be able to search for it yourself. http://www.prozac.com/index.jsp

You dont know me. You dont know what my work and family obligations are!!

I think if ppl really cared about who you are and your family obligations then we would have asked. "how are you, what do you like and hows your family doing? " But since no one on here has done that its safe to say we dont care at least i dont....

Do some research first before even asking a very broad topic like which way will my subs sound best... Up, down, away from the seats, facing the seats, under my seat or under the passenger seat. Who cares how bout you try them in different ways then get on here if your totally lost.

And about this board being mean bastards YES we are and we like it that way. I for one LMAO reading some of the stuff on here like your post.:laugh:
when i have a bad day at work i just get on cause i know ill find something that will have me on the floor laughing till me stomach hurts.

For example::laugh::dizzy::laugh:
Screw you Ethan! Go cut a hole in your speaker cone, stick your penis in, and play 15hz test tones at full volume, while screaming "SHIVA!"

your post just made my day....

I think they sound best in the back seat. Just set the box on the seat and strap it down with the seatbelts.

Why would you want the subs in the trunk? You don't sit in the trunk do you? I would want the subs in the same compartment that I, the listener, am in.

yes that method would work well. except your saying to anyone who walks by your car "i have a system! break into my car and take it!"
also it doesnt matter where in your car you put the subs as there arre holes all around the seat and rear deck allowing the subs to pressurize the whole cabin. unless you have your trunk completely sealed off from the cabin you really wont hear the difference. and dont worry about distortion through the seat, the sub bass waves are something like 30 feet long. its not gonna be a problem.

I like the fact i have my subs in the trunk because if they were in the cabin all i would get is nasty motor noise during extreme lows. The bass sounds much cleaner when it has the back seat to baffle the motor noise, and the trunk sort of acts like a second box to help "amplify" the bass a bit.

Did everybody miss the sarcasm?

I didn't miss it..... :shrug:

Of course, I was waiting for someone to mention getting a pair of 6x9 subs and mount them in their own pre-made 6x9 carpeted enclosures... then just set them on the rear deck just like back in the day.... but then again I am older than many in here and remember those types of silly equipment decisions.... :nonono: :blackeye:

What that's a BAD idea? :laugh::laugh::laugh:
