EXTREMELY loud hum from intake?!

Omg. I have a 3/16" hole in the iac pipe and its idling at 1500ish rpm. It has a BRAND NEW iac... Plus now im getting a P01506, high speed input or some such for the iac? Are BWD parts just crap or what??
 
I had the same problem (high idle years after fixing the moosing) back when I had my tour. I found it the 3rd time I cleaned the UIM and LIMs. These vents behind the throttle body were all clogged with carbon and crap. I cleaned them out and it fixed the problem. (photo from the interwebs)

in general OEM parts are best. Also you might have to adjust the hole size in the cap to make it work correctly.

lean codes on both banks are either a vacuum leak or a dirty/bad maf.

are you sure the pcv system was put back into place correctly?
 
FWIW, BWD makes quite a few of the OEM parts for various manufacturers, including Ford. not sure if the IAC for the Contour is one of them of course.

Nice,maybe thats what i need to do to mine...I pulled mine off another svt and didnt clean it at all and just slapped it on
 
What is a good way to clean that egr passageway? I sprayed the crap out of it with carb cleaner and such but is still black. Also can the mafbon these cars go bad orvbe dirty with out throwing a cel itself?

I know i dont have a vac leak with the new gaskets and such. I went over the plastic vac lines again also and checkednall areas with carb cleaner, no leaks at all. Maybe the fpr is going bad?
 
P0171+P0174 trouble

P0171+P0174 trouble

I have a p0171 & p0174 codes after harness swap. Car has new lim and uim gaskets as well as tb, iac, and egr gaskets. Surfaces were cleaned well before new gaskets. My mechanic smoke machined the car today and revealed that the lim gasket appears to be leaking at the cyl 5 & 6 area aswell as tge cyl 6 fuel injector oring... How could the gasket be leaking due to it being new and having a clean mating suface?
 
gaskets arent always in good shape even when new... I installed a set of new OEM gaskets a few years ago on my turbo car and had to change them out in 17 miles due to one leaking....

I may exchange them due to having to take it apart for the 3rd time anyways... Are you supposed to use any silicone on the gaskets? I doubt it but im at my breaking point with this car.
