Well since the old forum is down, does anyone have a detailed walkthrough of sorts for swapping an engine?

I'm basically taking out my 2.5L and swapping in another 2.5L.

I ordered a haynes manual (haven't gotten it yet)... is that gonna be enough to get through the job?

Also, will I need any special tools?

easiest way is to unbolt the subframe and lift the car over the engine. Drops right out if you unhook everything (for the most part) Haynes manual will be enough to get you through the R&R too.

Whether you lift it out the top, or drop it out the bottom you will need a set of metric wrenches and sockets and a fuel line disconnect tool that you can pick up at the parts store. Before you start your R&R go around and hit the bolts on your Y-Pipe with some WD40 or something a day ahead of time.

You should have gotten a hold of todras for the ford service manual that they use. It gives a lot more detail and better pictures as to how to pull the motor.

Plus its like 7 dollars shipped to you from him.

i got somebody who's in an automotive school to send me online version of the engine removal and installation and transaxle removal and installation parts of the service manual.

Is the ford service manual one with a load of pictures (like every couple of lines of writing for every picture)?

and, is the job possible to do without an engine hoist? Long story short I can't find the one that's SUPPOSED to be in the garage. We have a transmission jack if that's gonna be useful... We also have a lift in the garage
