It's called a low mileage 3L. Cheaper than any rebuild by quite a lot.

I doubt it. Just have to order all new gaskets bearings, rings etc etc. I'd send the heads to be done myself. I'd rather just save the time & $$ and put in a 3L.

Yep, 3L is more reliable, faster and cheaper.

Anyone here interested in doin this 3L swap for me, just let me know the numbers$$$$, im in Canada but am willing to travel within reason.

rebuilding an engine isnt just turning bolts, there is a lot of specifications and procedures to it, and if its done improperly, you could go 20 miles down the road and wreck the motor all over again. You are WAY better off buying a 3L duratec and swaping that in. Cheaper and more effective.

i'm not too sure of an exact kit, but you can go to a reliable auto parts store get main and rod bearings, new rings, pistons if they're worn, timing chain and gears, gasket kit, head bolts and then take your heads to get shaved and valves checked. it's not too hard to do all of this, just time consuming and making sure you get the correct/quality parts and torquing all the bolts properly. it would be easier and about the same to just do a 3L swap i believe, but i'm in the process of doing mine now.

I wouldn't get the heads shaved due to the fact that you may loose some of the tension in the timing equipment. Chances are enough wouldn't be taken off to cause that to happen but it doesn't hurt to be careful. They use a process now that involves heating the head to a extremely high temperature and strapping it down tightly to a perfectly true surface which in combination of the heat and tension it levels off the head perfectly. Just a thought...
