Is there anyway to tell what gen my car is besides the vin # ? when i bought it, it had 18" rims so i couldn't tell you what rims were on it. it's build #4326 in 1998  any help would be appreciated.

or you could just call SVT and get your build date?

I could do that if no one is able to help me. but this is easier for the time being.

As for the door ding strips. it still has them... so im still not sure. i have the clock, and i have the door ding strips.... E0 or E1 ?

With the clock, it could have been re-contented. The door ding guards... I doubt someone would swap them out rather then just removing them.

Flat or raised window switches?
NORMAL on the temp gauge or nothing?
Flat white lettering and symbols on handles, locks, vents, etc. or raised in black?
"Low profile" 3rd brake light or older taller style?
Black outline on rear window for 3rd brake light or no outline?
Chrome antenna base or round black base?
Second gen airbags or first gen?

Those are the ones I could think of quickly.

IIRC some of the late E0s had second generation air bags.

Find your VIN sticker on the driver's door (or door post, I don't remember which). It will show the month and day it was built. The change was very early in February of 98. I'm reasonably sure that anything with the build date of 1/98 or older will be an E0 and anything with a build date of 2/98 or newer is an E1.

You should know that "E0" is not a Ford term. It was coined here at CEG.

Okay, well the reason i ask is because i may be purchasing a "super chip" for my CSVT and its for an E0, i just want to be sure before i pick it up. Thanks for all the help.

Well, the earliest SVTs were built in '96.

on the antennas my daily driver #246 has a chrome base, and my parts car #1991 has a plain black base. and only produced like 3 months apart. so they must have quit with the chrome antenna quick.

I would look...but I don't know where the insurance company took it after I signed the Total Loss papers.

Wierd, I thought the chrome base went a little further into production. I didn't know they dropped it so quick on the 98's. My #1266 E0 has it along with my #542. Must of been not long after like you said.
