soo my rear drum brake pads are pieces of ****!

anyone have any pads i can steal off you? im really sick of the squeek the drums give off...most embarassing thing...especially when your car sounds good until you go to stop

let me know..im located in philly.

I know its deffinally the pads now.
i cleaned both drums and got all the dust out..still loud as hell.

What would you do if you were me? Im completly broke so buying top notch drum pads is a no-go.

Let me know your opinions.

Marc

how much?

Those are the cheapies from Autozone...Duralast is Autozone's brand. $25 or so I want to say. In what kind of condition are your drums BTW? Those could probably use a replacement or at least a cleaning. The brake dust buildup in a drum is INSANE.

i just cleaned them out...used a hairdryer to get all the dust out....brakes are only 5 months old and they squeek like they are 10 years old..the pads are real worn down too.

good look on that one i barely have time to lurk the stuff for sale...anyway i asked him about them. ill let you know how it turns out.

Marc, I won't be able to come down any time soon, but, if you can wait I'll help you throw install new shoes on the rear if you want. I'll even take the Mystique down to show you since she is running now.

Shoes are a BREEZE to install. All you need is a picture handy of how the springs go on . Take wheel off, pound off drum, pull retaining pin, remove shoes w/springs, replace in reverse order.

Its all good i gotta start saving my money up i keep spending it all..i installed my fog lights last night they make my car look so good..ill post pictures of how the switch works and what my car looks like when i get it back.

I took my car back to NTB (crappy mechanic shop) and since i have a lifetime warrenty and a 2 year labor warrenty theyre going to check my brakes out for me and see what the problem could be.

I hope they can just replace the pads and that solves the problem..ill keep everyone up to date with what happens.

Ohh and james eventually im gonna need a new strut for the front (squeeeky thing you've heard it)...and i wanna look into getting the squeeeky pully fixed idk how to go about that so if u know let me know thanks.

Maybe I just know how to do them too well...but from my experience...all the springs can really only fit one way.
