They were just pulling into the driveway when I got home. I didn't get to have a ride, but oh man was it sweet looking.

what, what, when and why? needs more text explaining everything .... does this happen to be the friend that had the GTO?

Yar, that be the GTO guy. Its a 2005 S281, number 900. He dropped by and took me for a ride in it. He stopped at a gas station and then let me drive it. I only went like 2 miles, and burned 1/2 a gallon of gas!! He really wanted me NOT to baby it, so I stretched her legs a bit. Its an auto tranny, so that stinks, but he's getting a tune and larger injectors and other bolt ons to try to get more out of it.
He has a lift in his garage and the Saleen is on top and the 03 BMW 330CI is on the bottom!
 
Apparently, Fox ford (the hostof the show and shine) had one in the showroom.
unfortunately i never got the chance to get in there before they closed.

i would have traded the SVT on the spot.
then i would only have to pay off 99% of the Saleen!
 
you finally drove it huh?! it was auto from what you told me last time I was over. Looks sick though, musta sounded like puuure sex :drool:
 
Well, I got to drive it again. He wanted to show me how much its changed. He changed the gearing to 3.73, swapped out the injectors, smaller pulley on the SC, and sent the ECU to Saleen for reprogramming. Saleen says that with those upgrades the crank HP should be 510-530. The difference is night and day. The SC kicks in a lot sooner and the tranny doesn't shift for economy anymore. Driving at 20 mph in my neighborhood, the thing wouldn't shift up and the RPM's were staying higher. Its like the car was just waiting for me to hammer it. Took a left turn at a light and got it sideways, with T/C on!! I guess the T/C can't account for that much power!! So far that is the second fastest car I've driven. The previous #2 was between that guy's GTO and the 03 Z06 at the GM Autoshow in motion. The fastest is still one of Richard Petty's cars....

i was cringing at first when i saw a new post in this thread..i was hoping he didnt wreck it.

what type of warranty does Saleen give?
i am sure the factory warranty is junk as soon as Saleen buys them.
 
3:73 the way to go. the previous owner upgraded mine to this. I love it. mine is a 32 spline axle also. it used to have a 3:55 he said really makes a difference, he changed the speedo gear and the put in the 140 mph cobra cluster too. funny though I read in other mustang threads that most guys are going 4:10's with the 4.6 motors for lack of tourqe against the old 5.0's. I think that is to low though.
