I've searched for this part but haven't got a really good explanation. I have changed front and rear mounts now I was inspecting the left and right sides and I pulled this straight out from its mounting position. How does this mount up? What do I need to replace?

I have a whole trans mount with good bolt, but the rubber is bad. would be good to rebuild your mount with.

shoot me a PM if interested.

Can you just extract the bolt and insert a new one?

well, from what it looks like in your pictures, you would need to drill and tap a new hole, then find a bolt thats the proper length to fit snuggly in there, Then who knows what will happen with that bolt, it could just snap again, or you could have other issues because you have a different sized bolt.

I bought a new "trans mount or support" new from BJ or Steve Tousley for 82 bucks!

My bolt broke as well. It happens a lot I hear!

Hey Nate,

I bought my car with the bolt broken and didn't know it. Do not run your car with it broken. I would get it fixed ASAP. I had complications due to that broken mount that ran into the thousands. When it breaks, the transmission + engine sits directly on the subframe. If you look in the drivers side wheel well, you will see this. The tranny should sit an inch or more above the subframe. As a result of being left for so long, it damaged my control arms, allignment, tires, tie rods, etc etc etc. I also had crazy vibrations in the cabin because the engine was no longer insultated from the chasis. Once i realized the problem, i bought the new bolt from Ford for $50 if i remember. You might need a special too to get the bolt in correctly though.

Bottom line, get it replaced ASAP and check it from time to time to save any long term problems.

Nate

Okay got it. I just had teh car aligned and the guy said I needed new tires. The thing still wants to pull to the right a little so idk. I will get it fixed before I drive it.
