A while back I ordered a full red led setup from Matt R. When the leds came in they were great, except they didn't get along with the stock green gauges. I still wanted a red cluster, so I took the ricer approach.
The red leds were moved to the indicator lights, CEL, seatbelt, ebrake, oil, and battery. Seeing how all five of the original bulbs had broken, I used the bulbs I pulled from these places to now light up the cluster. Using a red sharpie, I tinted each of the five bulbs until completly red. The HVAC leds were removed and replaced with the original bulbs also, these were tinted red too. Here are some dark (although blurry) pictures from inside my garage after everything was put back together.
The cluster isn't the brightest, but overall it works rather well compared to stock green.
