ive done a lot of reading and want to put in a torsen while my tranny is out of the car the problem is i dont have the money. are there any cheaper alternatives that would get me too the summer? and if i can get the diff what do i need to swap one out? i know i have to open the case but is there a gasket or does it just use gasken sealer. i have 2 weeks with the engine and tranny out and it has to go back in...

What sort of gasket to use is the least of your worries when it comes to rebuilding the transmission. I would save up the money and ship it to Terry Haines. He does quality work.

LOL! Took the words right out of my mouth. I guess he plans on just cracking it open and dropping a new diff. in. Even engineers on here won't work on an MTX-75. Not that it's hard but you do need to buy the very expensive tools. It's just easier to send them out and now worry about botching the job.

what are you talking about???? i the only tools i use is a press, snap ring pliers, and a dial indicator to shim the diff. also a torque wrench. you can pay a shop to use their press for a few minutes. or is this just me that can have friends with shops let me use their tools for less than an hour?????

How to?

Of course, that will just get you started. I would suggest looking in the old forums to get the information you need.
