diff rod holding the side gears

i finally got my trans out of my 99 csvt and found out i broke the rod holding the side gears in the differential :nonono: the case didnt break and no holes any wear and the gears are fine. i want to drill out the rest of the old shaft/rod and put a new on in... is this possible ? and can i just buy the rod alone and where?

don't even bother. Just replace the whole diff. they are weak anyway and the gears could go at any time .... and i doubt that you can get just the rod anyway.
