A friend has offered to help me perform a cylinder compression test on my 203K mile engine (stock 2.5L SVT) -something I have never in my life done before. He has asked me what the compression should be. I have been unable to find official documentation for this. From what I have been able to gather here it should be ~220 psi with an approximate variation of 10-25% ?

This is mostly for preventative maintenance and as of yet I have had no evidence of knocking or mis-firing.

thanks,

Mad Dog

iirc, the compression should be more around ~200 psi. however this is higly variable based on how hot the engine is. I would just check that all are within a reasonable percentage of each other.
