sure if I was interested in steel, I'd hit up ebay all day long. If carbon hoods for 98+ contours were readily available on ebay, nobody would send money to china and wait 2 years for a hood.

the CF cowl hood is available on Ebay.

and the OE style ones pop up from time to time as well.

edit: if the picture is accurate the hood shape is that of a 98+ not a pre98 like its listed for.

Where do you get the waiting for 2 years thing. I get stuff from china all the time, and it takes a couple weeks at the most to get here usually. It's stiuff from Europe that takes forever IMO. Things manufactured stateside also have a tendancy for taking forever, since much of this stuff is manufactured after it is ordered. For instance, my AAS body kit. I ordered it, and it took nearly 2 months to get to me, and those are manufactured stateside.

Lots of stuff on E-Bay is coming from china too FWIW.

i say go with a evo hood, but that's just b/c i want one and can't find anybody selling/making them... but it's gonna come down to whatever you want to make in the long run. it's gonna be on your car, and if you're the only one to have a awesome custom hood, then everybody will be jealous of your awesomeness.

well im not allowed to do a stock hood for class. i can do that on my own time.

carbon fiber runs 35-65 dollars per yard. and to lay up a full hood with stock supports underneath would cost a small fortune. it would be easier and more cost effective to do carbon/# of glass/carbon. gives you the same appearance and saves you money.

depending on my summer job i hope to start or get finished:
Fenders- stock and wide
Front bumper: SVT, and SVT with 1" lip
Hood: Stock and cowl or one of those sorts
Sideskirts: SVT, and SVT 1" lower
Rear Bumper: Stock SVT, and either a 1" lower or making it look like the ST bumper.

then eventually branch off to other cars.

Cool yamaha. I'll keep an eye on what ya get done. FIND, I was referring to both previous CEG hood group buys that I've read about here.

crap

Ok, sorry. It looks like crap with a couple holes in it.

Just put some holes in your stock hood at random places that dont flow with the body lines and you will know exactly what it looks like.

You don't even know what hood you are talking about!

You are confusing. You don't like the Evo hood, but like the touring wing?

I am kinda indifferent on the touring wing. My 5 year old liked it so I got it. Most of the things I do to my vehicles are just things to give me a giggle or my kids like or stuff like that. Heck, I am even putting running boards on my Explorer so my kids can climb in easier, and I don't even like running boards on anything. I just like making my family happy, it gets my kids involved in my hobby, and it makes my wife more willing to let me spend money on the cars. The Evo (more like invader style) hood just seems silly on a contour to me. To many sharp edges on that hood and a contour is all curves.

I agree here. That hood doesn't look bad really, it just could use softer lines to match the Contour lines. It would work very well for heat extraction for turbo guys but doesn't give any added clearence.

your drawing strongly resembles an evo hood.. i think a cossy escort style hood would be legit as hell..the vents really make it.
