Which owner's manual has specs for a Taurus engine with Contour oil pan?

well, since the oil capacity is determined by the pan, I guess the Contour Owners manual

4.8 V8 uses 6Q, 4.2 I6 uses 7Q, 5.3 V8 uses 6Q, and best of all, the L76 6.0 V8 uses NINE freaking quarts of oil, yet somehow the LS3 6.2 V8 only calls for 5.5.

that is true. the taurus pan, iirc is 1/4" deeper then the contour/escape pan. I would also guess the dipstick would also be different.

either way it has been held that 6 qts to 6.5 qts should be run.

I'm debating on what to run when I add the filter relocation hoses in a couple thousand miles. 6.5-7 quarts with the MC filter probably.

that is about what I was running when I first completed the oil filter relocation.
