wheel bearing is $50ish with knuckle, but how much is the hub? And if I don't replace the hub will I want to kick myself in the rear for not doing it?

No. Just make sure whoever is pressing the wheel bearing does it correctly or it will break down again within a few thousand miles. I have been told NAPA will press it (free of charge) if you buy from them.

I recently did both front wheel bearings while the transaxle was being replaced. I found out the Ford mechanic who did the bearings the first time f'd up the installation of the hub/bearing on the pasenger side. The hub wasn't pressed in far enough and it must have ended up with a wobble. When I got it apart it was scored and a loose fit on the bearing. Ford quoted me almost $300 (list) for a new 1!

Moral of the story is that it's not necessary to replace the hub. If you use someone knowledgeable, they will know whether the hub is OK for reuse or not.
