Winter is here.. snow on the windows.. ice on the road.. and my car needs new coolant :D
The old one is blue.. this is how my car came when I bought it.. and I know, from my previous cars, that the Pink/Red Coolant [called G12] is better than the blue one.
But.. does anyone know how many liters do I need ?

Thanks!

I have never heard of blue coolant .... well actually, I have now, its in the Subaru that we own.

The contour came with the standard green coolant. So I don't know why yours is blue. You don't want to mix coolant types either.

The required amount is in the owners manual, which is available online if you don't have one.

Green, or blue... I can't figure out the exact colour.. it's like a mix of blue and green.
Where I can find the online manual ? Is there written how many liters needs the contour ?
From what I know, the pink coolant G12 doesn't affect aluminium parts.

Right, but when it comes in contact with the older, green/blue coolant, it creates a nasty sludge that can destroy your cooling system.

If you're going to change coolant types, you had better do a THOROUGH FLUSH first.

I'm still dealing with this mess from the previous owner of the Cougar that I bought. It sludged up the tank and everything in the cooling system. I've done one flush and completely washed the coolant tank only to run the engine and have more circulate back into the tank. I'll have to do one more and see how it comes out.

It was brown when I bought the car, after the flush I'm closer to orange but it's still not the same color that's pouring out of the bottle of Dex-Cool.

From what I've found and read.. the CSVT came from the factory with ESE-M97B44-A green coolant. In my car it's the green coolant. Now.. the hard part is to find green coolant around here. From what I've found "Valvoline Zerex Original Green" is what I need.. right ?
Did Ford changed during the years the ESE-M97B44-A ??
