I'm planning on doing a coolant change this spring. Reading through the How-To, you are suppose to remove the temperature sending unit to flush the block. Is this the temp sending unit??

Thanks for the help!

That's the way I do it and yes you found the sensor to remove to allow a full flush.

Start by emptying the radiator. The drain is on the lower right rear side of the radiator. Close the radiator drain. Then remove the sensor. Then add water to the coolant bottle and allow coolant to flow out of the sensor hole until the water is clear. Drain the radiator again. Repeat if in doubt and drive the car with water only, the radiator drain closed, and the sensor reinstalled to get circulation if you repeat. Drain the radiator one more time, close the radiator drain, and add coolant to bring the mixture to 50%.

Thanks for the confirmation. The coolant is overdue for a change, and my car is sitting until May 1, so I thought this would be a good time to do the change.
