Cool Pontiac Commercial

While the g8 performance may be nice the styling does nothing for me. Funny how the commercial tries to make you want a car thats exciting and different etc, yet there whole line up is bland and boring like any other "regular" car on the road. Texas, I'll share the love on the GTO though, I think thats a dynamite looking car!

The 390 HP and 6-spd tranny, 4 doors and large trunk and what I like.

I'm in the same camp. The performance seems stellar, but in terms of looks, the car does nothing at all for me. Hell, the new Lancer (non-Evo, even) pisses all over the G8's design, to say nothing of the ballpark competition Lexii and Cadillacs.

The GTO still makes me happy in the pants every time I see one, though.

No kidding, but I'm fairly certain they don't bounce them between model lines.

For total clarity, I guess I could have said "Pontiac hired a wayward Saab designer...."

I don't get it. Everyone complained before that Pontiac styling was way too out-there and boy-racerish and needed to be toned now. Now their styling is understated and clean like previous generation BMWs and Audis...and people still aren't happy. I, for one, like what Pontiac is doing with the G8. If they could only bring the butt-ugly Grand Prix into the new styling scheme, I think they'd be on the right track.

Thread title = oxymoron.

I do like the Solstice. And GM does move designers back and forth from different divisions, including SAAB. It's typically a 3 year foriegn assignment. Probably pretty fun. Unless you end up leaving Sweden for GM DAT.
