Contour colors?

Good, at least you nailed that idiot a few times. That makes me feel better. :)

Time for a junkyard meet to get those leather seats.

RX-8, nice! We drove one at the Zoom-Zoom event and it was pretty nice.

Yeah I know, especially now that I'm home and have my car all the time I can go whenever, just gonna probably be tricky to get all the seats in the same color in good condition at once, but I guess I'll try anyway. Yeah, I really like the look of the RX-8's and I'm not bothered by the rotary, I'll learn how to work on it, but it's just a thought right now, it all depends on how much I get paid and what expenses spring up along the way, but with what they're selling at right now, the deal is just so good.

Maybe not as hard as you think. We just need to find a car or two with grey leather and go from there.
It's wasn't that bad finding an interior when we got Matt R's seats. It was harder getting the driver's seat out, since you can't move it.

Yeah, gotta see what you are going to be making and what expenses you have first. It is a nice car though.

I do want it fixed back to 100% because it is a nice car and it does reflect on me and right now it's reflecting that I'm a bad driver, though I'm not haha. Yeah well with my luck on the passenger side of my car I wouldn't be surprised if we found the rear seats and the drivers seat but no passenger haha, oh well, whenever you feel like going in about another month I'll definitely go.

I thought you were a bad driver...j/k ;)

I'm sure I will get to the yard the next time there is snow, I like going when there is snow on the ground, it's more fun. If I find a good leather set I will let you know, we can meet and get it.

Otherwise, in a month sounds good, maybe make it a CEG junkyard meet and have some fun.

Definitely sounds like a good idea to me, let me know. And John, yeah, they go for super cheap, the aftermarket is pretty decent for them too, I think they're just cheap because it's a rotary and it requires some specific knowledge that costs a little more at the stealerships and other shops for the people who don't know or want to work on them, but yeah, look on e-bay or even Autotrader, there are so many amazing deals it's ridiculous.

Here's a pretty good deal, no Nav, but who needs that anyway?

And another, trust me, any search on Autotrader will turn up some unbelievable deals, I mean who ever heard of a $35K sports car selling for close to it's mileage, in the teens, less than 4 years later? Most of them still have the remainder of the factory warranty left too!

PM me your number again. I'll give you a call so we can plan a day/time.

Like I said, I think it's just that shops charge more because of the rotary, but either way I'll still be working on it myself, so whatever.

Question about color...

Question about color...

Hey guys,

I know this is an old thread, but I was just wondering how many '99 Spruce Greens are out there...

I have one myself and I've been trying to find matching body parts (hood, passenger fender-- what can I say, I'm an Asian female driver?!) is a headache... Should I give up home on trying to find a harvest '99 at a junk yard?

Welcome! :)
We know one thing, you sure know how to do a search. ;) Nice job!

I've seen a few spruce green Contours in the junkyards, they are out there. Just gotta get lucky and find one on one of your junkyard trips.

What did you hit?

There is Spruce Green one in the junkyard by me. I took the instrument cluster, power antenna, and a few other goodies off of it. It looks like it was in a head on accident, so the fenders and hood are no good. Other body parts are good.

Welcome, you don't really need '99 specifically (I'm sure you know that) as long as it's a 98+ you'll be good, Spruce Green is kinda hard to find, but the hardest part is going to be finding front end things like hood and fenders in good shape as most contours in the junkyard are front end collisions. Perhaps your best bet would be to pick up different color ones, and take them to a body shop to paint and prep for you, then swap them out if you are able to do so.

Thanks for writing back!

I hit in late August... I need a hood and fender, and according to what you're saying and what I'm finding out, I guess I will have to get other parts and pay to have them painted (no spray booth for me!)... Bummer, I was really hoping I could do this cheaply.
