Power steering pressure sensor/switch connector has a broke wire at the connector. I got the blue clip removed but the wires continue to be locked in place. Has anyone disassembled one of these before? What's the trick?

I cut the connector off with about 6 inches of more wire so I could repair it and reattach. I think if I can get the pins out of the connector I could add a new wire and all would be good.

For every connector there is a unique pin removal tool. Sometimes the tool is inserted from the rear other times from the front. If you could take a close up photo of the front and rear of the connector (with a bright light) I might be able to determine how to release the pin.

You could also check the auto parts store. I can’t remember the brand but some outfit sells a line of replacement connectors. I know that they have some AC switch connectors for Fords. Its peg board stuff.

Go to the junkyard, cut off an identical sensor plug with a few extra inches of wire still attatched, solder together with the wires on your harness, and show off how cool you are to all your friends.

Although appealing, I have a small issue of living on the edge of the middle of no-where. But that is my plan "B". ;)

Update, Plan "C"
I found these at RockAuto. Can anyone verify that this is the same connector?

It looks like you can insert a pick in the space above and below the pin to release the “catch” and pull the pin out the back. You might have to use a pick at the top and bottom simultaneously to release the pin.

I don’t think it’s the same connector since it says Tail lights. Try the auto parts store and then the dealer. Skip the junk yard, you already have a junk connector.

Its a 1995 contour, junkyards have these for free. Where are you located I bet there is one around you somewhere and you just don't know it. I have been to JYs within 30 miles of any small town Ive ever been in. Althoguh that headlight connector does appear to be the same thing. Mabye rock auto has a phone # you can call and ask.

This has been resolved. I was able to get the pins out of the connector and put new wires on it. Looks like if I had kept the blue lock in but slightly raised a paper-clip just above the connector unlocks it.

Thanks for the replies.
