Cold air intake question

I would go with the BAT intake pipe, Pudmunkie heat shield and a K&N filter. Its not a CAI, but will work probably just as good without you having to worry about water getting into it.

You'd go with that just for the look and sound? Thats a lot of money to spend not to gain any power.

You can go with a air intake setup simple bolt on maf adapter with filter. Something similar to what i am selling.

Or you can pick up a true CAI setup by nautilus performance for 135 including shipping which includes a tube and air filter.

Both have there pros and cons. If you looking for a cheaper setup then a air intake is the best way to go.

CAI gets cold air from under the fender of the car. Bad part is possibility of sucking in water (unless you by a bypass) and your filter gets dirty every 6k miles. You will also have to cut a hole inside your engine bay and into your fender to get the tube through it. The plus side to this is the air coming into the engine is colder which is what you want.

Air intake--collects warm air but is an open element. It takes 20 mins tops to install and you get the same amount of volume of air as with the CAI.

If your new and want something to throw on, then air intake is best.

If your new and want something to throw on, then air intake is an option but not the best..

fixed :)

I already have an air intake on my v6 contour se. But i want a cold air intake for more power. im trying to cool my engine plus i'm trying to get more power out of my car.

i'm not sure why there's much back n forth going on here. if u ask me, this issue of intakes is a no brainer. The CAI is the best way to go, PERIOD! if its not a true cold air u plan to install, then leave it stock. i've driven mine in the rain a few times. no issues. unless of course u're planning to go auto surfing with ur car.
