I know that this has probably been covered but I cant find a situation similar too mine,
So if I am going to get my car dyno tuned at a shop, loganmotorsports.com, Do I really need to get the xcal2 or can I just go with the chip since I won't be doing anything myself?

Xcal is still nice for code reading and datalogging. I also like that with the Xcal you can use it once to flash the PCM and you don't have to worry about it. With the chip you've got it plugged in all the time where it might work itself loose. The down side to the Xcal is it might break/go bad while you have a tune loaded making it difficult to go back to your stock tune.

I have both and prefer the XCal.
