Celebration Time!

That happened to me too, I got a 1.01% raise due to it but no back-pay. They called it an "Adjustment Increase" in the merit review documents.

So this means that at the celebration dinner, you guys are paying? :)

I think dinner maybe cheaper with this group

I'll second that. :D

Kim, that's some kickass news! I love hearing good news for good people!

I really wish we could make it... but we'll be pretty beat if this is going down on the 9th. I don't think we'll be home until 11 or 11:30... if everyone is going to still be hanging around until all hours of the night, I might be able to stop in, but I think Robin will be dead to the world.

It's all good, Jay.

Try to make it to the candy mansion on the 10th instead. It's mostly a Mustang show, so you'll fit right in. :)

We had a vote on our union contract and it passed....the piece of crap of a contract that it is. What it consists of is:
2.5% Raise for 2008 retro to the start of the year
2.5% Raise for 2009
1.5% Raise in July of 2009
Could do better but could do worse I guess
BUT!
They also want to start charging us $25 a month for medical going retroactive to the start of the year. Right now we pay nothing but a copay with a max of paying $200 a year for regular office visits and $750 for surgery.

The raise for 2008 will basically subsidize the new medical billing.

Could be worse.

My last year at MIT, we received a letter saying that we were getting an extra week of vacation and five days bereavement leave, up from 3.

Three weeks later, we got another letter.

"Oh, by the way, nobody's getting a raise next year."

I was gone not even 4 months later. :)

Fugg yeah! That's freaking AWESOME! I wish I would get a raise, but grocery stores don't pay based on how hard you work. FTMFL.

Congrats and good luck!

And NO, good God no, I am not pregnant! NevAr!

Complete BS. purely based on the oh so small NO:laugh: You know you want one. Hey wait, I got a 17 month old that I'll make ya a deal on, he's a damn good wheel cleaner:laugh:

I'd babysit that kid for a few days. supah cute!
Be forewarned though, when I play with other people's kids, I teach them annoying habits that are difficult for them to un-learn. ;)
