Picked up this hood yesterday. Really wasnt too sure how well I could bring it back to life but after a few hours of sanding and buffing Im super happy with my results. The finish is almost as good as new. Although there are quite a few blemishes in the carbon fiber work. Not too impressed with the craftsmanship of this particular hood. Still looks great on the car.

The hood when I picked it up.

And finally after a polish with 3m wax cleaner. Final step will be 3m Performance finish.

I put them in that weekend for a show and some pics but took them out cause they were never properly aimed or sealed. Been putting it off. Think about them daily though.

Here is the products I used. These are actually the same products you recieve in 3m's most expensive headlight restore kit. I bought the kit a few years ago and after opening it I looked at the small wax products they give you and was like "Hey I have this same stuff already in bottles" so Ive been using this stuff on headlights many times. The cleaner wax is the first step I used today and the performance finish is what I will be using when the rain stops. Did the hood with the little 3" applicator and harbor freight polisher. It works well but I would love to have a 7 or 9 inch buffer.

awesome dude. don't ever remember seeing that product on the shelf might have to look for it. i had a oem hood that was ••••ed. wish i would have known

It may be packaged differently. I bought it 5 or more years ago when I worked at advanced auto and they had it clearanced and as an employee I got both bottles for $1.50 or so. Never used it till I realized it was the same they gave in thier headlight kit. Maybe it gets better with age lol.

The shadows are really throwing the WIP shots, by the last shot it looks really good though. Hope to see some more shot of the final out come. Good job, some people might have thought it was a goner.

Still not an Evo. :-) j/k
