Hi,

over the next days I wanna, rather have to, take a look at some cars, and test drive them, all from dealers.
I don't have a car insurance so far, and can't get one without a car. But I want to test drive, and not worry about it. Is there a solution to my problem?

thnx very much

Insurance should not be required -- you don't have to have a car to buy a car. A valid driver's license should do it.

It's Miami -- most dealers will be happy just to see that you've got one.

at a dealer they just make a copy of your license. Ive never had anything more.

test driving privet cars Ive never been asked my my license. so as far as insurance you would be fine. i wouldn't be surprised if a dealer set you up with some for a day if you bought a car to get it home and stuff.

also i had no insurance when i drove my svt home from a privet seller. i had his tags and would have still had his insurance for the day.

Well you wouldn't have HIS insurance. What happens is if you buy a car after hours or on a weekend you are automatically covered by your insurance company for X amount of hours. At least that is how it is with my company (progressive).

I guess if you didn't have insurance and wrecked the car on a test drive, they could make you pay for the full amount. Chances are the car dealer's insurance would cover it though.

if you crashed the car on a test drive you will not have to pay for it.. youll have to pay the deductable and thats it.... the dealer plates carry there own insurance so whatever car they are on is coverd but the dealerships insurance..

The car is covered by the Dealer, I sold at Ford and we never asked about Insurance , only that you had a Drivers Licence. In order to get a loan on a nicer car though you need to have full coverage on it, but you should have no problem setting that up. When I sold I had my Insurance agents cards with me , as I got stuff from him if I whored his insurance for him, and he sent me people who smashed and needed new cars. Its a good idea to talk to a agent before hand just to find out the insurance cost on a car.

If you had insurance, the dealer would go through yours in the event of a catastrophe but they have their own; the deductible is high though, and they'll come after you for that.

On a related note, check out the M3 at the top of this page. It should still be there a little longer, they don't seem to update their site much. My dad stopped into this dealer a little over a week ago to see if he could take this M3 for a test drive. They told him it was in back... Wrecked.
