I'm in need of a new Trans. when looking on-line I come across two transmissions with the numbers XS7P-CB and XS7P-CA. Can someone explain the difference between the CB and the CA. I can't find it anywhere. What I have is a 1999 Contour SE, 2.0 VCT. -- Manu. date is 10/98. I know it a cd4e, I just don't understand the CB and CA. I do hope this is in the right forum. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Possibly a manufacturing site. Make sure the XS7P portion matches your label.

Look at tag in lower right hand corner below barcode. 2 sets of 4 digits. Set to the left is build date, first single digit is last number of year, in your case 9. Next 3 digits are days in a year, 001 would be Jan. 1st. So 9365 would be 1999, Dec 31. Second set of 4 numbers is actual number of transmission, ergo, 0552 would be transmission number 552 built.

8030 0930? transmission number 930 built on Jan. 30, 1998
