I just put all new Synthetic MTX-75 fluid in my tranny (about $90cdn worth) less than 3000km's ago. I had to drain the fluid again because I am replacing the clutch at the moment.

I just poured it into a fairly clean bucket and I was wondering if it would be ok to just pour it back in.

Would I have to filter it super good first? And if so how exactly do I go about filtering a big bucket of oil?

If you cleaned the underside of the body very well and none of the dirt got in the bucket, and the tranny fluid looks good, then go for it.

If I had to filter it, I would fork out the $90 again. If there are pieces of dirt there, you don't want to pour it back in the tranny. If there are "chunks" or metal filings, all the more reason why you don't want to do it.

Haven't done it before.
