buying a 95 contour zetec

hi im buying a 95 contour zetec for 1,200 from the dealer has 115k miles. i looked into the wire harness recall the wires look normal i was told from the recall on that car the wires was inspected and that the blower switch was replaced. i drove the car drove perfect i see no oil leaks. should i know anything about this car?
 
yeah if it is the original wiring it will crack ...

make sure the timing belt and all the pullies get replaced ....

the parking brake cable could go bad ....

your going to want new headlights to see at night, my 95s where really bad

personally if it isn't a 5spd you shouldn't bother, unless you can't drive standard

make sure it has the added resistor for the cooling fan, that was also a recall ...
 
i looked at everythong and it looked fine. is it a ***** to replace yourself? bil at teamford told me they inspected it on the recall and everything looked fine. why didnt for just replace it?

Part of the recall was IF the wiring harness was cracking at time of inspection. If it looked fine then it wasnt ever replaced.

what? the wiring harness?

need to search on that one, I hear it isn't hard if you don't have abs ...

reason I commented about the harness is mine was fine until last year or so, at least I never noticed anything but now I do, its just a matter of time ....

Fiance's 95 lasted 2 weeks after i bought it. Head gasket went. Replaced it, then the head cracked... PITA!

Btw.. Any one have a good 2.0 Zetec head for a 95 Contour :D
 
All constiques that were imported to canada from the states were fitted with daytime running lights to meet canadian standards. They rigged them in such a way that if the fuse for the daytime running lights blow, it cuts power to the ECU,Fule pump and Ignition system. Just a simple yellow 20 amp can kill them
