brake pads??

Could you tell what brake pads you had w/ them off the car? They all look the same. Choose whatever pads you want, buy them, and put them on the car.

Pad suggestion

Hi;
I always favor the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads.
A little soft, wear quickly, and put off a bit of dust but
I never have brake fade because of heat build-up.
Besides, these pads are guaranteed for 24 months- unlimited miles.

Some of my friends use ceramic pads to keep dust down.
Regards
Gary J.

according to BAT there are two types. and seeing as there was a slight confusion of the year of my car between two other cegers whether its a 98 or 98.5 is why i asked

since you have a higher numbered SVT you are a 98.5, I would assume you have the same brakes as normal V6 contours, not the larger caliper/pad that early 98 SVT's came with.

My 98.5 SVT (#4967) has the regular V6 caliper/pad. I also just recently bought new rotors and pads for my car. Brembo blank rotors front and rear and Hawk HPS pads front and rear, all bought from The Tire Rack.

If you found the pictures on the BAT site, you should be able to tell. You can see the ears of the pads, even when they are on the car, well enough to see the difference. Print the page from the Bat site and take it with you to look at what is on the car.

I suspect that you have the late SVT/non SVT type.

My two bits is to run Delco ceramics up front (where dust is an issue) and Motorcraft semi-mets on the back (where it isn't).

Easy as pie from www.rockauto.com.
