brake lights stay on

..also, verify the brake pedal is being pushed back out fully. The return spring in the booster sometimes gets weak or fails.

its not always that easy:cool: my 95 new brake, blinker and headlight switch did nothing....the problem ended up being somewere's else,i ended up cutting a wire on the wiper stalk so that the blinkers still work. wire a power source to the brake switch, ran another wire to a set of indep. lights i had to fit into the taillight housings.

brake light on...

brake light on...

Happened to me after a clutch install.

I cant recall the exact fix but I think the shop forgot to reconnect either the switch or something else.

This was a few years ago but I believe it was the pedal switch.

Stick with the switch if everything else is working and you didn't do any work prior to the failure.

First check is that the switch didn't fall off the bracket - that happens a lot.

Second, slip the switch off the bracket and push the button and manually open and close it.. If the brake light goes on and off, then likely it's just the fitting on the bracket.

also this has happened to me all i had to do was bend the little metal piece that has the button the brake pushed to turn the brake lights on back alil and then it was fine.
