Anyone know if there is a fuse for the block heater? Mine dosent seem to be working anymore after plugging it into a wire with no ground (go me)

The engine block heater (optional - factory) is not wired though the vehicle's system.

It is a direct 120 VAC connection that should have its own inline fuse.

The lack of a ground circuit should not have affected it's operation in any way.

Ill go see if I can find anything in my owners manual about it. IIRC I got a Canadian insert with mine.

I remember when I got my car I saw a plug under the hood and was like "WTF is this for?!"

Werd. Any idea where the block heater is located? Its -27 outside and my car is in front of my buddies house.. Not really prime to go around looking under the car.

Maybe it's not connected on the other end? or is there no current running through it? That's a unique problem, if it comes down to it, I can detach my block heater cable and give it to you if you want...

The block heater is located in the oil pan. There is an extension cord plug that usually sits right behind the grill so that the driver can hook it into an extension cord off a standard household electrical outlet.

I was going to add that option to my car when I ordered it. I assumed the heater was in the coolant. Learn something new every day.

Advance or Autozone sells a magnetic one for about $35 that you can just "stick" it on.

lol tony, you and your autozone, you sure you dont have a deal with them? cause if not, you sure should!

Though if you need a block heater, your probably better off getting on that actually goes in the pan.

LOL. These are my two "toy stores" and I frequent them often. Sometimes, just to "kill" time while waiting for a prescription at the CVS pharmacy next door. :D

...either you're really old or hooked on the drugs cause that could be the only reason you spend so much time there!

Actually, I'm both old and hooked on the "toys". The prescriptions are just an excuse to check out the "toys".
