BLKOUT2: Rebirth. PRT 2011 track car build thread.

Just a quick tip as I'm reading through your thread: Be careful with that Harbor Frieght auto-darkening hood. As you initiate the arc, blink your eyes. It doesn't have the best response time, and I actually ended getting a good case of arc burn using one of those. Granted, I made a few hundred welds that day. I digress, safety first!

Keep up the great work!

I really like what you did with the boxed rear beams and completely changing up how the swaybar mounts go on it! How much where the parts for those sideways swaybar mounts? looks like two heim joints and a 2" length of tapped 5/8 DOM?

very, very pretty. So when can I have something like that under the rear of my car ;)

Stage 1 or stage 2? I'll be building another set of stage 2's in the near future without any swaybar mounting...could easily build 2 sets at once and just add swaybar to one set.

Thansk! The end links are actually just a male and female heim joint threaded into eachother. Something like $28 in parts. I'm very happy with how it came out. We got everything finish installed last night and with the car at it's track drop the swaybar will be almost perfectly horizontal. The problem I had in the past with stock links and an agressive drop, was my big swaybar would actually interfere with the subframe. Not any more. :)

needs photo of car sittin low low low... Im funna get a set of those arms once they are on the market.

I need to order the new 2 1/4" springs first...may not happen till after SZ, but it will be low enough for my tastes with my current equipment.

I'm considering trailering it, my dad has offered to let me use his 2500 diesel since a friend has offered a secure place to keep the rig for the weekend.

Because it's a long damn drive for a car that's going to barely be completely together for longer than a few shake-down drives, let alone getting any substantial street miles. AND the fact that it will, no doubt, be punished at the track while it's here. That's why not.

This has nothing to do w/ doubts of Pole's talent/skill, fwiw.

Pole,

I am impressed by your work. I've seen a lot of people get started with contour builds with big dreams (prodigy anyone?) but you are one of the few that are following through. I look at this thread every day.
