Looking to sell my 1998 Contour SVT. I've had the car for 7 years. I got it with 105,000 miles when I was living in Massachusetts, it now has 148,000. It's currently my daily driver, but it has a number of issues:

The bad:
1. Grinding noise occasionally (~30% of the time) when engaging 1st gear. Chipped gear? I have no idea what the issue is. I've been starting in 2nd.
2. Quick shift to 3rd will grind, probably the synchro.
3. CEL. I've replaced 2 of the oxygen sensors 2 years ago, but I'm getting both P0420 and P0430 now. Passed CA smog August 2014.
4. Occasionally a high idle, 1500+ rpm, with engine speed rising slightly on shifts. This is intermittent; sometimes it idles and runs normally.
5. Needs new suspension and a rear control arm is bent. Rust on the underbody from its years on the East Coast.
6. Some cosmetic issues, paint scratches, etc.

The good:
New tires.
Even with all that, it's still a fun drive.

I'm asking $900, and willing to entertain offers. Try me!
