I had them in 225/45/17s. they gripped really well, even when worn. however they get really freaking loud as they wear down.

What striker said. I ran through a couple sets of these on my M3, and they grip very good in the dry, ok in the wet, but if you open track them, they will get very greasy if overheated, and they are never quite the same after.

I've had two sets on my SVT. Like everyone said they grip really well. I know theyre summer tires so obviously snow/ice traction sucks...Like Dan said they get super loud. My last set was obnoxious going down the highway if I didn't have music on.

my last mustang was horribly loud, cause of the exhaust, but hey its just an excuse for a loud sound system lol.

im liking what im hearing from yuo guys. thx all

I had a set and loved them. It took a lot of effort to get them to slip in cornering. Very sticky tire. I switched to another tire because of the noise though. It sounded like bad wheel bearings when I was driving down the highway. If these cars had better sound deadening, it wouldn't be an issue.

Most people don't purchase these a second time around solely due to noise. I think that should really tell you something...

These tires came on my car when I bought it. I have no complaints. I autocrossed with them all summer. They have great grip. I haven't noticed an abnormal amount of road noise, but these are the only tires I've run so I don't really have much to compare it to.

I think there are many other tires that are better and cheaper than these.

please inlighten me, this kind of statement tells me yo may have experience.

mostly im looking into the performance market, i can deal with sound if thats the only problem you guys have with these tires.

I've had them on mine for a few years, they are pretty bald now. Performance on the street is good even in the wet, I've never tracked them so I don't know how they are. I didn't notice the noise but my car is pretty loud.

I guess the question is what do you want to do with them? Street, Autocross, Track, Drag????

This. If you're looing for autocross/track tires, there are many other tires out there that are better for around the same price, or just a bit more.

Please enlighten us. I would like to pick up a set of dedicated summer tires for autocrossing.

I was thinking about these when I went to a 17" wheel on my car, but after reading about how noisy they were and reading some good reviews on the Nitto Invo's I decided to try those instead. The Invo's are a great tire and are extremely quiet on the highway. They're so quiet you can barely, if at all hear any noise on the highway. They grip very good as well, with just a slightly lower treadwear than the KDW2's (300 to 260 for the Invo). I want to say like they're cheaper too.

im looking for something to go racing in and have on daily.

the only problem im hearing about is the noise, and if thats the only problem ya'll have with them then it sounds like a solid choice.

ya'll keep saying you can get as good of tires with less noise for cheaper. so yet again i ask, please inlighten me.

You can't compare treadware ratings between two different tire makers.

or even between two different cars, there are to many variables. Like I had a set of Dunlop Sport A2's on my Mystique years ago. I got about 25k out of these tires, I believe the tread wear was 30k. My friend put a set on his C240 a few years ago also because I like the tire. He has near 60k on them. difference, mainly alow of highway miles.

I wasn't comparing treadwear between the two tires, merely stating that the Invo's had a lower treadwear rating than what the BFG's did. Treadwear doesn't mean the tire won't last as long or longer, as Brian said there are many variables to take into consideration as to how long a tire will last. Perhaps the way I worded it had you thinking I was trying to say the Nitto's gripped better due to a lower treadwear than the BFG's, but that's not what I was implying.

Looks like he's made his mind up regardless of what suggestions people are making.

Tire tests, personal experience.. stuff like that. Also, the KDW2's aren't even the highest class of summer tire. Go look on tirerack at the tire tests for extreme performance summer tires, and pick any one of them from there. Also, another contender that won't be on there are the Nitto NT-05's. Fairly cheap, and have very good reviews. I would suggest either the NT05's or the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's.
