Best use of a headlight opening I've ever seen!

impeller is slightly cheaper to replace than say.... rebuilding your engine because you ingested a small pebble.

just a thought.

I don't know why this made me laugh for like five minutes, but it did. Either because it makes too much sense, or the punchline was funny.. or both.

You're 100% correct. Even though a pebble would never make it through the turbo enough small crap could that the engine would be very upset.

I dont think a small pebble would fit through an impeller spinning at several thousand rpm. It would just glance off and possibly do some damage to the fin.

i dunno man... a vehicle in front of you kicks up a bunch of particulate with some tiny pebbles in it, i think it's a real possibility.

True. Increase the amount of pebbles at the same time and the odds of one slipping through increases. Now you've got me thinking of roulette. :) I will say that of the dozens of failed turbos I've taken apart either to rebuild or to satisfy my curiosity the biggest particle I've ever found inside was a very small grain of sand and that was with an exposed impeller.
