Battery

There aren't many choices in the 40R size group but for options do a search on the topic. There have been in depth talks here on the forums.

You will have a hard time doing better than the Ford replacement Motorcraft battery. There are two quality levels so look for the higher quality one. They are often on sale from a nationwide promotion. Call around to different dealers to see who has the best prices.

Alternatively, a Sears Die Hard is also highly recommendable. Both are made by Johnson Controls.

I would not be afraid of Interstate either.

If money is no object you may want to consider an Optima. It is better battery technology, but pricey. They are also owned by Johnson Controls.

I went with a Motorcraft one. The original one lasted ten years so why not just stick with it.
