battery light flickering

On my soap box, aftermarket rebuilds buy cheap parts to save on costs. My observation is they use cheap regulators as opposed to the Ford quality. Based on what I have read and seen, those who use Ford alternators, seem to have to replace at far less intervals, and last a lot longer.

damn right you did.

and i did a battery and alternator test with one of the shops VAT's. i forget what the battery voltage was but it passed. and alternator output was within spec.

"Within spec" doesn't really mean crap. The actual voltage output numbers are the important part. Also, at the time you tested it, it might of been outputting correctly but may not be at other times.

AutoZone did a test on my girlfriends car and it was showing 11.2 volts. According to them, the alternator was good and within spec.

It died the same day.
