its on sale, and i have had mine for over 3000 miles. you can put your hand on it after the engine has been on boost and its warm to the touch. its worth it imo.

Yeah, I switched out to this kind as well.

However, I think there's a balance to be kept between shielding other parts from the heat from the turbo, keeping the temperature up in the housing for spool, and turbo longevity. In the end, I just used a metal shield much like this one:
